Roof replacement · Storm repair

Your roof looks fine from the driveway. It isn't.

Scroll to see what's really up there, and how we rebuild it layer by layer.

What you can't see from the ground

Twenty years of weather, up close.

  • Curled, cracked shingles
  • Missing tabs and exposed felt
  • Moss holding water against the roof
  • Rusted, lifting chimney flashing
  • A split vent boot letting rain in
The tear-off

The real damage is under the shingles.

Rotted, moldy decking only shows up when the old roof comes off. Shingling over it just hides the problem. We strip to the wood and replace every bad board.

12 Decking + ice & water shield

A solid base, sealed where leaks start.

New plywood decking, then a self-sealing ice and water membrane around the chimney, vents and valleys, where nearly every leak begins.

34 Underlayment + drip edge

A second waterproof skin.

Synthetic underlayment covers the whole deck, overlapped and cap-nailed, with metal drip edge and a starter strip along every edge.

56 Shingles + ridge vent

Then, and only then, the shingles.

Dimensional architectural shingles, new step and counter flashing, a new vent boot, and a ridge vent so the attic can breathe.

The result
